Last Thursday during chapel, we honored students’ family members who have served or are currently serving in the military. Families of grades 6–12 submitted photos that were transformed into a beautiful slideshow celebrating our military heroes! We were also privileged to hear from Mr. Brett Bennett, an Army National Guard veteran, who spoke to our students about the importance of service and sacrifice—not only in the military but also in the Kingdom of God. Today, on Veterans Day, we give a heartfelt thank you to all our heroes for their courage, dedication, and sacrifice!

Honoring our heroes! 🇺🇸 Mrs. Smith’s kindergarteners made “thank you” cards for local veterans in celebration of Veterans Day. ❤️🤍💙

Mrs. Thompson’s fourth graders explored the geography and culture of the United States one region at a time! They dove into the Southeast—and Louisiana in particular—by tasting classic local favorites: crispy fried okra, savory sausage, and homemade Southern cornbread. It was a delicious way to learn about the rich flavors and traditions of the South!

📣 Head of School for the Day!
At our annual Live & Silent Auction fundraiser, parents have the opportunity to bid for their child to serve as Head of School for the Day—and this year, Benton won!
Benton made a huge impact on the CCS campus today alongside our Head of School. He ran fire drills, made morning announcements, checked students in and out, monitored security cameras, delivered items to teachers and students, and even approved a few teacher purchases!
To top off his busy day, Benton and our Head of School enjoyed a special lunch outing to Raising Cane’s, followed by dessert at Great American Cookie.
Thanks for leading us in the Crusader Way today, Benton!

Our third graders who met their AR goals for the first quarter celebrated their hard work with Bomb Pops and extra playtime! 🎉📚 We’re so proud of their dedication, determination, and love for reading. Keep reaching for those goals, Crusaders!

Our 2nd graders had a special visit from Koga Orthodontics last week! They learned all about the importance of taking care of their smiles and keeping their teeth healthy. Thank you, Koga, for making learning fun!

📬✉️ Our 2nd graders are making new friends across the country! They received a letter from Highview Christian Academy as part of their mission to collect postcards from all 50 states. To share a little Louisiana love, our class is sending back a special package with a letter, a Louisiana postcard, beignet mix, Creole seasoning, and the book Celebrating Louisiana. Learning about the states has never been so sweet—and so tasty! 🌎💌🧂📚

Our Juniors and Seniors recently attended the NELA College Fair, where they had the opportunity to meet with representatives from post-secondary institutions across Louisiana and the surrounding region. The event allowed students to explore various academic and career pathways, connect with knowledgeable advisors, and begin planning for their futures.
Several students shared their experiences:
Beaux said, "I spoke to ULM representatives about how kinesiology majors can pursue many different careers. I learned I could potentially become a personal trainer at a gym."
Bella shared, "I really enjoyed the fair we went to today! It expanded my viewpoint on many colleges I was considering, and I got to speak to knowledgeable representatives."
Candice commented, “I enjoyed talking with the people at the ULM Arts table. They spoke highly of the art of dance and shared great things about their program and company.”
Kenzie said, "I talked to the ULM Psychology Department. They were extremely welcoming and gave me a lot of good insight on what psychology at ULM is like."
Meaghan added, "I spoke to a representative from the LA Tech table. He said that Tech has one of the best business programs, not only in Louisiana, but in the U.S."
The fair proved to be an inspiring and informative experience for our students as they continue exploring their post-secondary options and preparing for life after high school.
