Over the past two days, our 4th graders hosted a lemonade stand to benefit the American Cancer Society. We are proud to share they raised over $1,000 by selling lemonade and snack cakes for $1 each!

Please have your student bring cash to purchase books from the library starting Monday, May 4th. Books will be priced at $1–$2 each, with a variety available for all grade levels, including many chapter books. All proceeds will go toward purchasing new books for the library.

This year we sent 25 students to compete in 28 subjects at the Literary Rally. We had 16 students place, with two students earning recognition in multiple events.

Grace fought her way to the semifinals in girls singles at Regionals, and Cooper advanced all the way to the finals in boys singles, earning Regional Runner-Up.

It’s kickoff week for our Color Run!
Our students got the excitement started with a fun pep rally where they learned all about this year’s event. Packets went home today, so be sure to check backpacks.
Key dates to remember:
• 4/16 at 8 AM – Pre-register to earn a prize
• 4/17 at 8 AM – Raise $50 for a sweet treat
• 5/8 – All money due to qualify for prizes shown in the graphic
Funds raised will go toward expanding our playground and supporting special events throughout the year such as 100 Days of School, Dr. Seuss Day, 50th Day, Field Day, K4 Fun Days, chapels, Cru Week, parties, and Christmas events.

4th grade wrapped up their 5th novel of the year: Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. When asked what lessons he learned from this novel, 4th grader, Kip Parker, said, “Even when people treat you unfairly, you can still choose to do the right thing.”
Being a hero isn’t about being the strongest; it’s about making good choices. And God wants us to keep doing good, even when it’s hard.

Our third graders recently wrote persuasive essays proposing some new school rules. They worked in groups to turn their essays into commercials and then they presented their commercials to Mrs. Kitty. The rules they proposed were: wear caps to school, bring toys to school, have elementary nap time, have elementary bistro, have longer lunch time, start school later, and bring pets to school. They were so excited to hear that Mrs. Kitty plans to present some of their ideas to Mrs. Heisler, and possibly get their rules passed! Marlow Mills said, "The commercial was really fun to do. I hope we get to have some new school rules!" Mrs. Womack said, "I am so proud of these students! They came up with their own ideas for the rules and commercials, and worked super hard in their groups. They had very little guidance from me, and received constructive criticism very well. I'm excited to see if any of their ideas come to fruition!”

Our new 3D printer at CCS is equipping students with skills in design, formatting, and coding. As they use the printer, students learn to plan, test, and reshape their ideas in order to produce a successful final print. They are rewarded with a finished product they can hold. This helps students develop skills for future jobs while encouraging growth in creativity.
