**SENIOR NIGHT!**
We loved celebrating our remarkable senior athletes from cheerleading and basketball last week! Their dedication, hard work, and leadership have truly inspired us all, both on and off the field. We are so proud of everything they have achieved, and we can't wait to see the amazing futures that lie ahead for them!

Yesterday, our teacher meeting included a field trip to our local Corner Coffee shop. We showed our appreciation for our teachers by enjoying fellowship and sipping coffee together. Given the busyness of the season, this surprise was our way of expressing our gratitude for all they do for our Crusaders.

The Great Gatsby is a novel about the elusive American dream and the flawed characters who chase after it. The junior class explored its themes through the lens of the Bible, discussing the misguided pursuit of success. To celebrate finishing the novel, we had a party complete with 1920’s music, bubbly grape juice, the Charleston, and Bella Keen’s homemade red velvet cake.

Mrs. Parker's class ended their 4th novel reading on Friday, Charlotte's Web. They celebrated by watching the movie and enjoying the foods mentioned in the book. This provided a visual representation of the story, encouraged critical thinking, and helped them better understand the plot and characters. Students will write a short essay to compare and contrast the novel to the movie.

During our elementary chapel, we embraced a time of writing our prayers to God. We had the chance to express our gratitude for everything He has done and to share our deep love for Him.
We also took this opportunity to pray for our school, our homes, and our families, asking God for His guidance and support as we embark on this new year. Each prayer was placed in an envelope, sealed, and will be prayed over multiple times throughout the year. When we receive them back next year, we will be able to see all the incredible ways God has worked in our lives!

Our 4-H Crusaders have been creating heartfelt Valentine's Day cards for local nursing homes. We invite all CCS parents, grandparents, and siblings to join us in this uplifting mission by sharing love and encouragement through your own Valentine’s cards in our community. Please drop off any cards at the front desk, and we will take them to the 4-H office for delivery along with our students' cards.

Our Student Ambassadors had the privilege of serving lunch to the Family Church Primetime Group last week. It’s inspiring to see how this shared meal blessed both our students and the Primetimers. The time spent together was filled with warmth and fellowship. It’s a joy to witness our Student Ambassadors shine!

46 Crusaders competed in the CCS Spelling Bee. We are so proud of each of them for the work they put in to prepare, for standing up with their peers to compete, and for being their classroom champions! It was a long battle and our students stuck it out until the end.
We would like to celebrate and congratulate our 1st-3rd place winners!
🥇1st: Jacie Bond
🥈2nd: Phalyn Welch
🥉3rd: Genevieve Taylor
Congratulations! Thank you to all who participated.

Important Dates for CCS in January!

Due to inclement weather, CCS will be closed on Friday, January 10th. We want to ensure your safety and well-being. Please stay tuned for further updates.

Merry Christmas!

Our 5th grade class did an amazing job presenting "The Light Gift." It tells the story of a young girl's journey of kindness, which leads her to discover the greatest gift of all. Her journey reveals the wonder of God's perfect timing: "Stay on the way and treat others as you would the coming King."

Family Discipleship Night was incredible! Adam Griffin, coauthor of Family Discipleship and host of the Family Discipleship podcast, shared some practical ways to disciple our children and grandchildren. Deuteronomy 6:4-9 tells us that discipleship is an ongoing conversation in the day-to-day living in our family. Adam shared some practical takeaways that we can all begin to implement today: (1) Read the Bible aloud daily as a family (2) Pray aloud for each of your children and speak scripture over them (3) Spend one-on-one time monthly with each of your children.
Another highlight: we are called to be different, set apart. Adam used the analogy of "raising Green Bay Packer fans in a Dallas Cowboys town." Christians are not called to be like the world...we are called to be different.

What is happening at CCS?

Celebrating our elementary students for embodying the Crusader Way during the second quarter of school.
